The eChallenges series is one of the most prestigious international conferences in the IST research calendar. Sponsored by the European Commission. eChallenges attracts over 500 delegates and speakers from commercial, government and research organisations around the world.

Confirmed sponsors for eChallenges e-2004 include the European Commission, the City of Vienna, the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology and the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment in Vienna, Alcatel, HP Europe, Telekom Austria, Business Software Alliance, Memeticor and Parallel 56.
